Me, myself and Irena, in the beginning of July, came up to the idea that we could visit the city of Crikvenica. Because of the fact that we’ll go on vacation in August, we decided to spend these hot summer days the best we can and so we decided to visit a different city each weekend.
It all began with Irena’s idea to visit Crikvenica. We had no idea that we would have such a great time. Our reservation was made over the E-turist agency. Our journey began the moment we stepped into the bus. I don’t know about you, but when I travel, I always bump into some weirdos that, by the end of the trip, don’t even know where they are. They were even questioning if the city that we were heading to was called Crikvenica or Crkvenica, which we found hilarious. They were making us laugh so much that our stomachs started hurting.
When we came to the city, we decided to visit the main square and have some coffee.
After that, we went to take a walk and visit the place I don’t like to talk about and that I have really bad memories of. It’s the special hospital for medical rehabilitation of respiratory organs and locomotor system Thalassotherapy Crikvenica, in which I was few times. Because, just few months after I was born, I was diagnosed with asthma and bronchitis, my parents decided to send me in Crikvenica to get better. My first time there was in 2001, when I was just 7 years old. My mother always says that it was so hard for me to realize that I will be there alone and that they won’t be by my side. It was not allowed for parents to stay with their kids. My parents had two options, to go home or rent some apartment or room in hotel. In that time, hotels and apartments were very expensive, so my parents decided to go home and visit me every weekend. They say I was screaming I will throw myself down the stairs if they leave. Imagine how it was for a mother to leave her child in that moment, while the only thing she wanted was for her child to get better. I hope now you understand why I felt like this about Crikvenica, until last week. I remember my mother came to visit one weekend, and just before that, I got sick and could not go outside which meant my mother could not see me. An awful period in my life. After that time, I went in the hospital three more times. As I was growing up, it was much easier for me to spend time in the hospital all by myself. But, the most important thing is, that now I see how special the city of Crikvenica is, it has something you can rarely find, that feeling of calmness and security. In 2015. I found out that I no longer suffer from asthma and bronchitis, which meant I don’t have to go again in the hospital. The main point is that we all suffer, but, if we want to get better, we need to bear up. I’m thankful to God that I’m no longer sick and I would recommend the hospital to everyone, especially to the parents whose kids have the same diseases as I used to. It is a really great hospital and one day they will be thankful as much as I am now. After all, I finally confronted one of my biggest fears and I visited Crikvenica.
And finally, a little bit about our trip. We spent the whole day on the beach which was not very smart (we were lazy and didn’t buy sun cream). Also, we had lunch in Kavana Piko that offers a big range of food, but of course, as usual, we ate pizza and ice-cream but psst… I knew that you have to pay to enter the beaches in Crikvenica, which I find ridiculous, so we just walked a bit and found a beach that did not require paying. You should never go to the beaches that you have to pay for, because, first, it’s stupid and second, you are wasting your money.
After the time on the beach, we decided to take a few pictures on the main square, and it was so hot that I stayed in my bathing suit.
On the way back to
? Zagreb, when we stopped in Ravna Gora, the driver started playing some folk songs from Zagorje, which Irena and I found hilarious. That’s how our little adventure came to an end.
I recommend to everyone who has problems that I used to have, visit Crikvenica, breath in some fresh air, spend some time there, trust me, it will help you! We are planning a trip for next week, but for now it will remain our little secret. You’ll find out everything when the time comes, and if you are going on vacation in August, be sure to go visit the seaside at least one weekend before that, just to have fun and forget about everything for a second. And, ofc, the right way is Crikvenica, not Crkvenica.
If you want to spend a quiet weekend, far away from everything and everyone, and relax a bit after a hard week, ECOPARK KRAŠOGRAD is the ideal place for you.
Only half an hour drive from the capital city of Croatia, you can find the Ecopark Krašograd. Ecopark Krašograd is located in Bratina, which administratively belongs to Pisarovina municipality. The park itself stretches over around 400 hectares, thus offering its visitors a great deal of content, both for children and adults.
Ecopark offers children's excursions, jogging and educational fun games for the youngest ones. Krašograd is also an ideal place to celebrate a child's birthday. They offer a large number of activities such as rope withdrawal, jumping in bags, jumping on a trampoline and others.
For recreational enthusiasts, there are football and volleyball courts as well as a tennis court. Since the park is an ecopark, it would be bad to miss seeing all the animals who live there. When I saw does that were just a few feet away from me, I could not believe it. I've never had an opportunity to be so close to them.
The restaurant is refreshed every year and offers seasonal meals. Restaurant The hostess is suitable for organizing wedding ceremonies, various business and family celebrations, promotions, baptisms and occasional dinners and banquets. In the apartment section of Ecopark, there is a possibility of accommodation.
I found out that for those romantic souls there is a studio suite called Sweet Secret, because everything that happens there, stays a little secret ;). Since the park is called Krašograd, I knew that we would have the opportunity to taste some delicacies and that all the houses and bungalows will carry the names of the finestes and most famous treats that Kraš does.
I was thrilled the most by the small hilltop house with a beautiful view of the whole ecopark. Unsustainable nature and the escape of reality will indeed have a special impact on all of you.
It is interesting that animals, that undisturbedly walk through the whole ecopark, are quiet. I thought that some duck will attack me.
As we walked by the lake, one duck was so calm that I thought it was a statue. When I got closer, the duck jumped into the lake.
If you really want to get away from it all and for a moment be alone with some special person, Ecopark Krašograd is the ideal place for you. Spend your afternoon on this trip, rest, enjoy and forget about everything. Visit Ecopark Krašograd and believe me, you will not regret it. I didn't.
Enjoy your week.
As you may have seen, I decided to take a little trip to Milan which is well-known as a world center of fashion and design with my friend in crime - Eva.
We had never visited Milan before so we didn’t know what to expect, but we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived to the one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe, city with a large global impact on trade, industry, music, sports, literature, art and mass media.
One morning we came up with an idea to visit Milan.
Since we have decided to travel alone, we planned and customized it for ourselves as well.
Every day we tried to visit as many landmarks as possible and take advantage of all the time we could.
We took pictures, had fun, but also learned something. Even though we were not able to figure out the maps so easily, in the end we managed to get all the informations we needed. A smile of a thousand dollars, opening all the doors.
The first thing we decided to visit was The Gallery of Vittorio Emanuele II, which with its glass - iron dome, beautiful mosaics and marble floors, in my opinion, is one of the world 's largest and most glamorous shopping centers.
We also recommend everyone, first to visit The Gallery of Vittorio Emanuele II. The Great Gallery of Vittorio Emanuele II, a covered passage connecting Piazza del Duomo and the square opposite the La Scala Theater.
As soon as you step out of the subway to Piazza del Duomo, you must be impressed with the view that stands in front of you which is the giant marble facade of Milan´s Cathedral.
As everyone in good old fashion knows, if is not on Instagram, it didn´t even happen, and, of course, I could not let my followers down. All the time I was talking about Milan, one city - one love, and I fell in love.
"The walk around Piazza del Duomo will explain to you its size, and if you want to look at how it looks inside, make sure that you are suitably dressed, covered head to toes, otherwise you will not be able to enter!"
And now a little bit about our accommodation; Hotel Da Vinci is located in the middle of a park of up to 8,000 square meters, near Milan. The hotel itself offers a restaurant and a private parking. Not far from the hotel there is the railway station Bruzzano, which includes direct lines to the city center.
The hotel has large, elegant and air-conditioned rooms with free Wi-Fi access, which is really important in 21 st century, you know what I mean 😉 All units include a large bathroom with tiled mosaic tiles, flat screen TV and a mini bar from which we all slept, but pay fairly, water 2 € - nothing terrible.
The hotel offers extremely tasty food within an affordable price range and staff was really professional. The food was really really good, and what I liked the most was that there were all kinds of meals, meals for everyone.
One of the reasons why we went to Milan was Eva's birthday. We decided to celebrate her birthday outside of Croatia, so we chose Milan.
Like every other birthday, this one could not be celebrated without a cake. We decided to blow out the candles in the toilet because we had a fire alarm in the room, Eva was saying we'd go to the dick if that went wrong. So, we celebrated her birthday in the toilet.
I told everyone that they should never send postcards, because no one can guarantee that they will arrive. And that's exactly what happened. I told Eva that it would be better to buy magnets because they are of higher value and last longer than postcards. We sent postcards on November 5, and they arrived after three months in Croatia, people forgot that we were in Milan.
To some friends I bought souvenirs like magnets and plates, while others did not get theirs, because their presents were those postcard. Conclusion: Do not send postcards, buy magnets!
Milan is also known for its pastries that Eva and I could not resist. Since we don`t eat in the restaurants that often, Farage and McDonalds were the top destinations. Typical Balkan.
We´ve come to the one of the most interesting topics, and that is #milanstreetstyle I would say that the Italians have the style, but actually they do not. As can be seen from the enclosed, I told Eva that this pair was among one of the best dressed people in Milan. Simple and yet chic. Italian fashion is really special, there are those who look like a million dollars, there are those who would like to look like a million dollars, there are those who will never be the fashion conscious, and, there are those who just do not care how to dress. Interesting.
The city has its several popular tourist attractions such as the cathedral and square of Piazza del Duomo, Teatro alla Scala Theater, Vittorio Emanuele II Gallery, Castello Sforzesco Castle, Pinacoteca di Brera and Via Montenapoleone.
For the end I left the cathedral which is really special and worth looking at from every corner as well as from the top. The view that comes from the top of the cathedral is indeed worth and astonishing. Extract a few euros to enter the cathedral and climb to its top. The picture says more than words.
Not to be missed: Top tourist attractions in Milan!!!
